The Wilkinson County Courthouse will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026, in observance of Juneteenth. The Courthouse will reopen on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 8:00 a.m.
Employment Notice: The Wilkinson County Elections office is seeking a Registrar. Deadline to apply is June 12, 2026.
The Elections Office is seeking a professional, organized, and detail-oriented Registrar to support the administration and integrity of elections.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate preferred.
- Prior office administration, records management, customer service, or government experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the public and coworkers.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work extended hours during election periods when necessary.
- Must be a resident of Wilkinson County.

NOTICE: seeking Code Enforcement/Building Permit Officer
The Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners is currently accepting applications for the following position: CODE ENFORCEMENT/BUILDING PERMIT OFFICER
- This is a part-time position, 20 to 24 hours per week.
- A successful applicant should possess a valid Georgia drivers’ license, at least 5 years of experience in code enforcement and building inspections, and possess certifications needed for legal building inspections and permitting.
- Applicant will be responsible for enforcing county ordinances by spending time out in the county and issuing building permits for residential and commercial buildings which includes overseeing payment for said permits.
- Applications are available in the Wilkinson County Board of Commissioners office located at 100 Bacon Street, Irwinton, GA 31042 and on the county website at https://wilkinsoncounty.net.
- Applications must be completed and returned to the office by close of business Friday May 15, 2026.
